A Toys For Blessings 2020 Recap

Posted March 5, 2021

Like the rest of the world, Toys for Blessings (TFB) volunteers experienced ups and downs during 2020 but, as always, God’s faithfulness was always present and we are rocking and rolling into 2021.

Because of the uncertainties of 2020, toy production was down 42 percent (from 36,659 in 2019 to 21,286 in 2020). Since inception in 2014, 156,000 toys have been made and distributed to children around the world.

As in the past, 98% of our toys were packed in shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child (OCC), a project of Samaritan’s Purse. In 2020 our toys were distributed to Mongolia, Philippines, Ecuador, Peru, the Pacific Islands and hard to reach countries.

We are always thankful for the time and commitment of our volunteers. Currently we have shops in Lake Forest, Orange, Cypress and, our shop previously located in Tustin has moved to Philomath, Oregon. The commitment to excellence of our volunteers is reflected in the quality of every toy produced.

TFB does not exist without the support of our sponsors and donors. Our biggest cost was in the production of wooden cars which averages 35 cents per car. During 2020 we received donations covering 85% of our cost for which we are so thankful. Every donation to TFB impacts the life of children around the world who receive cars and other toys crafted in one of our workshops.
